The weather in space……….

Aurora Nasa

Many aspects of  modern technology can be disrupted by space weather storms.  Changes in the ionosphere alter long-distance radio signals and Global Position  Systems (GPS). This is why at SkyCam Wales we monitor the weather in space.Strong magnetic fields can diminish the accuracy of compasses,  disrupt magnetic prospecting, and even cause homing pigeons to go astray. Recent images of the aurora borealis in the UK were only possible as a result of the surge in magnetic activity in space.

Ok http://www.nasa.gov/ we concede the fact that we will never get a better picture than this one of the aurora than the one apparently  captured by your satellite as we are only permitted to fly up to 400 ft.
